Understand how and why systems encounter homeostasis, a self-regulating process by which systems maintain stability while adjusting to changing external conditions.Discover how to engage in relational repair following a subtle act of exclusion or personal perpetuation of systemic oppression (also known as microaggressions).Understand how empathy, perspective taking and repair help us stay relational when there are cultural differences and/or systemic power differences that impact our interactions with one another.Develop an increased ability to identify how systemic oppression creates “fantasies” of grandiosity and perpetuates collective shame.Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to use Systems Thinking to unpack the characteristics of White Supremacy Culture as the foundation of all forms of systemic oppression. In terms of understanding systemic oppression (ie: ableism, racism, classism, homophobia, transphobia, fat-phobia, xenophobia, etc.), Systems Thinking is a method of navigating the complexity of the world and human beings by looking at it in terms of intersecting cultures and relational power dynamics. He sculpted them in several sizes and exhibited them extensively.This panel presentation examines why Systems Thinking matters in terms of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. Although the Gates of Hell was never completed, some of Rodin's most famous sculptures and memorable pieces were originally done for it including The Thinker, Adam, Eve, and The Kiss. In 1880 French sculptor Auguste Rodin received the commission for the Gates of Hell, a decorative door for the future Museum of Decorative Arts ( Musee des Beaux Arts), to be decorated with low reliefs inspired by The Divine Comedy of Dante. It is meant to be a portrait of the great writer Dante as part of a series of sculptures related to Dante's Divine Comedy.
